This xeric steppe gypsophile element has a
curious disjunct range, with a large area north from the Black Sea
and another one, totally isolated, in Transylvania. In the last
region the species grows abundantly on the Eocene gypsum layers from
the north-west part of the area (see the first set of pictures
below) while being very rare in the Transylvanian Plain, on other
rocks (second set of pictures), It is also mentioned from Moldavia
at Falciu (Vaslui county) but this report should be verified.

Transylvanian Plain, on sands and not on gypsum, the population here
is totally isolated from the ones on the gypsums from Somes Plateau
and the species was not encountered in this region since the XIXth
century
